BMS Bio Blitz 2005
First Annual

On June 14th and 15th, the eighth grade class will participate in the first Brooklyn Middle School BioBlitz. A BioBlitz is a biodiversity survey that counts as many species of life as possible in a particular parcel of land in twenty-four hours. The eighth grade class will count as many species of living things as possible that exist on the Brooklyn School property. The purpose of this event is two-fold. First, it demonstrates that biodiversity is important in Connecticut, not just in far-off jungles. Secondly, it compares how the Lewis and Clark expedition's techniques for recording the bio diversity of the frontier compare with modern survey techniques.

Results will be posted soon.
