Brooklyn 55 - Parish Hill 36 |
The Brooklyn boys varsity basketball team won
their 4th game in 5 attempts with a 55-36 win against Parish
Hill.
The victory was keyed by outstanding bench support play. Ed
Ross, Dylan Leeder, Chris Phelan, Dan Jones and Colin Winston
teamed together to secure the Brooklyn win.
Matt Stringer scored 12 of his teams 19 points in his 1st JV
start and their 1st win. The JV team is 1-0 in league play.
Their losses were against out of division large schools. Dan
Potrelli contributed 5 points and some solid guard play. |

Brooklyn 52 - Eastford 42 |
| In a very exciting game, Brooklyn pulled out another
win. With good effort off the bench from Dan Jones and Dylan Leeder.
Michael Berthiaume and Mike Gaudreau both had 14 points in the
game. |

Brooklyn 31 - Thompson |
| The boys basketball team wrapped up playing the
large school division teams with a win against Thompson. Brooklyn
had a 10 point lead into halftime but Thompson hit some big shots
including a threes. But with ten seconds left in the game Michael
Berthiaume hit a shot that sealed it. Brooklyn had a 10 point
effort from Berthiaume and Mike Gaudreau chipped in with 12. |

Brooklyn 56 - Plainfield 64 |
Despite leading for 29 of the 32 minute game,
the Brooklyn varsity boys suffered their first loss, 64-56.
Plainfield unfortunately hit a hot streak in the last 3 minutes
of the game as it seemed they could not miss a shot. Two players
in particular for Plainfield, who had had only 8 points total
prior to this offensive "spurt", combined for 18 points
during their game ending run. Mike Gaudreau scored 19 points
for Brooklyn and Wes Pellerin scored some key baskets with an
11 point effort. Dan Jones was commended for his strong play
off the bench.
The JV team had little luck despite also leading several times
in their contest. Kevin Bonitz and John Sherman played extremely
well. |

Brooklyn 44 - Griswold 43 |
The boys varsity won for the third straight game
to improve to 3-0, with a 44-43 point victory over Griswold.
Matt Stringer and Dylan Leeder played an excellent defense and
controlled the rebounding for Brooklyn. Matt Stringer and Mike
Gaudreau led the team scoring 14 points. Josh Emerson scored
all 13 or his points in the second half.
In the JV contest, Brooklyn had some offensive problems. They
scored only 6 points the entire game, 1 in the 2nd half. The
entire team played excellent defense however, holding Griswold
to 12 points through 3 quarters. |

Brooklyn 51 - Killingly 43 |
The boys varsity recorded its second road victory
in as many games versus an out of division large school opponent,
51-43. The 2-0 Bobcats received a career best effort from center
Josh Emerson who delivered 17 points, 12 rebounds and 3 blocked
shots. Weseley Pellerin and Mike Berthiume provided excellent
foul shooting support connecting on 7 of 8 from the charity
stripe.
The JV team suffered its 2nd loss 31-16, but played well against
a taller more experienced team. Kilingly played two varsity
players on JV to fill in for absent regulars. Craig Dunn scored
8 points for Brooklyn. |

Brooklyn 53 - Putnam 51 |
Michael Berthiaume and Michael Gaudreau combined
for 34 points as the Boys Varsity defeated Putnam 53-51. Brooklyn
played excellent defense and jumped out to a an early 17-5 lead,
which provided the opportunity for all players to receive valuable
game time experience. Dylan Leeder was commended by Coach Chenail
for playing a very fine game for helping out Josh Emerson who
was forced out by foul trouble.
In the JV contest, the boys fell victim to Putnam 20-13. Zach
El-Samin contributed 7 points and 4 rebounds in the effort. |
